I do not have OCD. At least about most things. However, when it comes to the bathroom floor I am the queen of obsessive. If a towel hits the floor it goes in the washer. If a toy finds its way in there, I trash it. Toothbrush, trashed.
Having this compulsion and 5 kids lends for a big dilemma. Hand towels. No matter the discipline or penalty, the kids cannot keep it on the towel bar. Finally after being irritated one to many times, the solution dawned on me. For years, my mom has graciously purchased kitchen hand towels at craft shows. These hand towels had been crocheted so they hung from oven doors or fridge doors.
So I grabbed on of my towels and hung it in the bathroom. Problem solved. Even my husband gave me a pat in the back. However, now I had a new problem…kitchen towels look silly in the bathroom. So, I started scouring Etsy but nobody does bathroom towels or at least does them for a reasonable price.
This I reached out to my multi-talented and Uber crafty friend Ahmelie, who owns an Etsy shop. Just so happens she was already thinking of prototypes for this specific purpose and asked me to try them out and give her and my readers my unbiased opinion of them. *Squeal* ok!
The first one we tried was the green towel. This had a Velcro enclosure sewn in the middle with the towel left “open.” Here’s how it looked in the bathroom:
- Looks nice.
- Stayed put!!!!!!!!
- Easy to dry because the towel is spread out.
- Great style.
- Stayed put!!!!!!!!
- We utilized this towel during a birthday party and it got wet and stayed wet since it wasn’t spread out as much.
- This one is my favorite style. Super cute!
- Stayed put!!!!!!
- To make this cute style the towel was cut in half. While this makes an adorable towel, it decreased how long I hung it for our family.
While I am the only contributor to this blog I showed these awesome every-mom-needs-these towels to multiple families, of multiple sizes.
The hands down winner….. #1. We all loved the style and how it looked on the rack. We agreed that it would dry better and therefore need to be changed less frequently. This is also the one my husband picked, and he is most often the hardest to please. Even if you chose any of the other styles you won’t be disappointed! My sister has already placed her order with Ahmelie. Head over to her shop and place an order…and find a LOT of other cute things too!
